Why It Matters

What EN 1090 EXC 2
Means for Your Project

EN 1090 is the European standard for the execution of steel structures. Here is what our certification means in practice for clients commissioning structural steelwork.

Legally Compliant Steelwork

Under UK building regulations, structural steel components must carry UKCA marking. Our EN 1090 certification allows us to produce and issue declarations of performance, making our steelwork legally compliant for use in UK construction projects.

Factory Production Control

Our factory production control system has been independently audited and approved by the Centre for Assessment. Every stage of fabrication from materials to finished product is controlled, documented and traceable.

Commercial and Public Sector Ready

Many commercial developers, housing associations, local authorities and public sector bodies now require EN 1090 certification from their steel suppliers. Our EXC 2 certification covers the vast majority of structural steelwork applications.

EXC 2 Coverage

Execution Class 2 covers the majority of structural steel fabrication work including standard frames, beams, columns, connections and welded assemblies. It is the most commonly specified execution class for commercial and residential structural steelwork in the UK.

Full Documentation

We can provide full documentation with every structural steel order including the declaration of performance, material certificates and weld records. Everything your structural engineer or building control needs is available on request.

Independently Audited

This certification is not self-declared. It has been independently assessed and issued by the Centre for Assessment, an approved body (number 2551) under UKAS product certification. It is reviewed and renewed annually.
